Account Executive - Chicago

Job Description

We are looking for the next class of highly motivated account executives to help us continue to expand our market adoption and mid-size Enterprise growth and become the standard in a highly competitive security market.

Our account executives develop relationships with security and DevOps leaders of data-driven companies that leverage their modern applications to reach their customers. You will engage with security leaders, DevOps and cloud teams to intimately understand how their business work and how Data Theorem can help them secure and protect their APIs, mobile apps, modern web apps, and cloud services.

As an Account Executive at Data Theorem, you will be responsible for the end-to-end sales cycle for prospective customers, leveraging your rolodex of security buyers, leveraging inbound leads from the demand gen funnel, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the IT security and DevSecOps roles who help to drive digital transformation at Fortune 1000 / Global 2000 companies. This role will be primarily focused on adding new logos to Data Theorem’s growing customer base, often landing the account with one or two specific use cases to demonstrate value quickly and expanding to the full stack application security suite that includes API, cloud, mobile, and web security solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • College degree strongly preferred

You should consider joining us if:
  • You have a minimum experience of 5 years owning the entire sales cycle for a technical product to Enterprise level accounts (Fortune 1000), and you want to hone your craft in a scaling startup on its way to success

  • You have excelled at selling into IT security, Product security, DevOps, or DevSecOps groups within the enterprise segment

  • You have worked for SaaS companies and/or fast-paced subscription-based solutions particularly targeting security buyers

  • You are collaborative with marketing, sales engineers, product, customer success, and others to get your deal done, and work well in a “teaming” environment.

  • You are resilient and believe mistakes and failures are learning opportunities, and you value feedback

  • You are open, honest and take an entrepreneurial approach to sales, mindful of your customer’s risk tolerance
